Join us in our campaign to push GMOs out of the US food supply.

The natural foods industry has led the way in the widespread consumer rejection of genetically engineered bovine growth hormone (rbGH or rbST) by educating their customers about the health dangers associated with rbGH and making rbGH-free brands readily available.

The next big consumer tidal wave will be the complete rejection of remaining GMO in food products in the US, and natural food stores and their employees will play a pivotal role. The purchasing power of the tens of millions of health-conscious shoppers will inspire a new tipping point where GMOs can be pushed out of the entire food supply in the US.

The Natural Food Industry, food manufacturers, distributors, health care professionals, religious groups, and schools are all coming together for the first time in history during this campaign to eliminate GMOs in The Campaign for Healthier Eating in America.

Jump on Board in 5 Easy Action Steps:

1. Distribute the free Non-GMO Shopping Guide: Your customers will use the Guide to easily find the non-GMO brands they are looking for in your store. The free Shopping Guides and Health Risks brochures are available through UNFI and Select Nutrition.

2. Place the Campaign’s Non-GMO Education Center in a prominent location in your store. Its brochures, books, DVDs and CDs convey the message that “Healthier Eating Starts with No GMOs.” This one foot wide free-standing floor display is available through UNFINutri-booksIntegral Yoga, and Yes! Books. Refills of individual products are available through Nutri-books, Integral Yoga, Select Nutrition, and Yes! Books.

3. Meet with your staff to inform and inspire your employees about the Campaign. Our staff training material in the Retailer Campaign Kit includes a FAQ sheet and a helpful quiz to empower your employees to answer questions and educate customers. Ask your employees how they think the store can contribute to the coming Non-GMO Tidal Wave.

4. Organize a free public showing of the new blockbuster documentary, “The World According to Monsanto in your store or at a local venue. This new blockbuster documentary is the most digestible, up-to-date, and compelling critical examination of GMOs to date. Our Showing Guide, and downloadable materials, will help you promote the film and provide ways to channel the resulting motivated audience into effective community action. Get a free in-store copy of this DVD and a free Showing Guide.

5. Educate your Customers with our free articles, and streaming videos and audios, and non-GMO eating tips and brochures for your website and store newsletter. (Also in the Retailer Campaign Kit.)

We believe that as little as 5% of shoppers—15 million Americans—conscientiously avoiding GMOs would be more than enough to achieve the US tipping point. Europe reached the tipping point in April 1999 and within a single week, virtually all major manufacturers publicly committed to stop using GM ingredients in their European brands.

Everyone benefits:

• Natural food products will enjoy unprecedented popularity as they lead the way in eliminating GMOs.
• Natural food stores will gain more loyal customers.
• GMOs will be kicked out of the food supply, which will improve the health of people and the planet.

Join us in this historic movement and be part of the Non-GMO Tipping Point.
